It has been a very long time. I had some web issues, health issues, and life.
We have been sooo busy this year.
In January I took on a long term poetry class one day a week. I am introducing poetry to a group of 6-8, and 9-12 year old’s. Also entered a poem into HIAAE Historical Institute of African American Experience. The poem is about historical African American Inventors. I will get that posted in the poem section soon.
In February I facilitated two youth poetry groups for teens aging out of the Foster Care system.
I also started a new program at CAM Erie (Community Access Media) I saw that my community of Erie PA has a multitude of women over 60 years old still very active in the arts and social justice advocates. It came to me that I should interview these women, so I named the program; Never Quit-Hers and the first two episodes are finished and episode number one airs M&F @ 2pm -Tu & Th @ 1:30 pm and F 12:30. My nest couple guests are picked out and I will tape those soon.
Just in March we had our yearly WOW Women of Word with a few Man Made Words in a new location. Chippers Seafood and Southern Fusion where they welcomed us with open arms. They helped us celebrate with some great finger foods afterwards. We will have video coming soon.
Two days later we held the After WOW open mic at Werner Books to give inspiring young writers a chance.
April 1, I created the April NO FOOLS Allowed open mic at CAM Erie, where we were video taped and live. That was such a success we decided to have on the first Monday of each month Poet’s Know It, at CAM Erie live and taped each month.
On April 8th I was one of three poets chosen to feature at the Park Side of the Moon Eclipse poetry and then open mic. We were at Frontier Park in Erie PA. It was wonderful.
April 17th I am one of many chosen to read their poem from an Anthology that the Erie Public Library created. We will be reading @ 6pm at the Library in the Hirt Auditorium.
May 6th will be the kick off for Poet’s Know it at CAM Erie. I am excited to offer an opportunity for poets to become digital and preserved.
